What are diet companies interested in?

You may call me cynical as I often question the motives of most diet companies, but funnily enough so do the students on the workshops I teach.

Without any prompting on my part someone on every workshop we have run makes the comment that it may not be in best interest of the diet companies for you to get slim. Food for thought (no pun intended!)
